Wednesday, September 8

The Hammonton Environmental Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Hammonton Town Hall, 100 Central Ave.
Girl Scout Troop #6045 will meet at 2:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, located at 326 E. Bellevue Ave.
The Hammonton Senior Citizens will meet at 8:30 a.m. at Fire Co. No. 2, located on the White Horse Pike. For more information, call Pat Campanella at 561-8570.
The Exchange Club will meet at 7 p.m. at Rocco’s Town House, located at 21 N. Third Street.
A Knitting/Crocheting Group will meet at 7 p.m. at Casciano Coffee Bar and Sweetery, located at 212 Bellevue Ave. All are welcome.
The Hammonton Ministerium Good Samaritan Center will provide meals at the Atlantic County Human Resources Building, 310 Bellevue Ave., from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Woman’s Civic Club of Hammonton will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Liberty and Broadway clubhouse, located at 418 Liberty St.
Boy Scout Troop 58 and Cub Scout Pack 58 will meet at 7 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, located at 326 Bellevue Ave.
The Hammonton Democratic Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Atlantic County Library - Hammonton Branch, located at 451 S. Egg Harbor Rd.
The Red Hat Society, Jersey Tomato Chapter, will meet at 6 p.m. at Rocco’s Town House, located at 21 N. Third St.
The Kiwanis Club of Hammonton will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Maplewood, located at 470 S. White Horse Pike.

Other Events

A Hammonton High School Band Reunion (for those from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s) will be held at the Hammonton High School Performing Arts Center on Sunday, September 12 at 3 p.m. The event will be held by Band Director Anthony Guerere and former band staff. It will include band videos and photos followed by cake, coffee and catching up. Videos will be available for purchase. Cost is a $10 donation and can be made payable to the Hammonton Band Boosters.
Tickets can be purchased at Joe Canal’s Liquor Outlet in Hammonton.
The VFW Passalaqua Post 1026 will hold a Ravioli and Meatball Dinner on Monday, September 13 beginning at 6 p.m. at the VFW Hall, located at 390 S. Egg Harbor Rd. Food is available for eat-in or take-out.
The Canoe Club is sponsoring a bus trip to Delaware Park on September 20, 2010. Cost is $30 and play back is $30. Call 339-6572 for more information.
The Tea Party Patriots of southern New Jersey is holding a workshop on September 23 at 7 p.m. at the Atlantic County Library - Hammonton, located at 451 S. Egg Harbor Rd. For more information call Mary DeMarco at 567-2197 or Susan Lord at 412-0345.
The Sunshine Foundation asks supporters and Red Hat Lady Chapters to save the date of Wednesday, October 6, for their annual BINGO Dinner, with a Red Hat theme. The dinner will be held at Shannon’s Country House. Tickets are $30 and will include a sit down dinner, BINGO set-ups and many prizes. The Wishing Well Chapter will be honoring Marie Perrone at this event. Perrone, who passed away, was a dedicated member and Queen mom of her Red Hat Ladies Group.

The Hammonton Farmers’ Market, located at 12th and Front Streets, is open every Friday, now through September 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy music, kids’ activities and special events each week. The themes include: September 10, Celebrate the Oldies But Goodies; September 17, Green Week and September 24, Harvest Week.

The Hammonton Cancer Foundation will hold the third annual “Helping Our Neighbors” event on Saturday, October 16, at the Winslow Manor, Hay and Hall Streets in Winslow Township. There will be a buffet dinner with homemade desserts, silent auction, honor/memory slideshow and entertainment. Tickets are $35 each. All funds benefit South Jersey Cancer Fund, which helps hundreds of cancer patients in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties pay their expenses. The Historical Society of Hammonton Museum is now open to the public. The hours are: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month and by appointment. The museum is located in Leo Club Park off Vine Street.
If you, or if you have someone in your family that served in France during World War II, have a battle star you may be entitled to France’s highest military award, “The Legion of Honor Medal.” A copy of your DD 214 will be needed, and expect the process to take 6 months to a year to receive the medal.
